21 September 2007 Access to Italy 'to be opened up'
Italy is set to become increasingly accessible, with new routes to Milan being planned, it has been revealed.
Realpointitaly.com reports that the new flight itineraries could turn Milan into something of a "hub" within the country, allowing visitors to fly from the city to virtually anywhere in Italy.
Meanwhile, areas that are currently not receiving much attention will become more exposed and attract visitors.
"There are the lakes, which span three different regions of Italy and they are all accessible in about an hour from Milan," commented Eddy Crompton, director of Realpointitaly.com.
In related news, the AFP recently reported that Italy's transport minister is "considering" Ryanair's offer to begin operating flights from its Milan airport.
Ryanair recently announced the launch of a new flight route between Malta and Venice Treviso.
