03 October 2007 Additional Galway services announced
New services between Leeds Bradford Airport and Galway have been unveiled by European regional airline Aer Arann.
The carrier is currently celebrating the first anniversary of services between Leeds Bradford and Galway and has decided to increase the flights to Galway from the Yorkshire city to daily flights from this winter.
Increasing the frequency of flights on its Leeds Bradford-Galway route from five a week, Aer Arann said it also planned to boost the number of flights between Leeds and Cork.
Sam Wynzar, Leeds Bradford Airport communications officer, said: "The flights to Cork and Galway have proved to be a great enhancement to the services available from the airport and Aer Arann have shown strong commitment to reliability and customer service over the past 12 months, a pledge that our passengers really appreciate."
Aer Arann head of sales and marketing, Colin Lewis, claims that the Galway and Cork services have proven to be two of the top Irish short-break destinations for Aer Arann at Leeds Bradford, with 25,000 passengers using the airline's Leeds Bradford services over the past year.
Budget carrier Ryanair recently announced that it carried its two millionth passenger from Leeds Bradford to Dublin since the launch of the route in 1996. The company predicts that it will carry more than 300,000 passengers at Leeds Bradford over the next year and has announced a new route to Shannon on the west coast of Ireland from Yorkshire.
