03 January 2008 Airline reaches milestone on Brazil flights
TAP Portugal has announced that its one millionth passenger has flown to Brazil.
It is the first time that the company has transported this volume of people in a one-year period.
In total, the airline offers 65 weekly flights to eight different Brazilian cities, including to the capital of Minas Gerais State - Belo Horizonte.
Meanwhile, the airline intends to reinforce its complement of annual flights to the Brazilian Northeast by replacing its Airbus 310 with the Airbus 330 model, which offers a greater passenger capacity.
Virgin Atlantic recently reported that holidaymakers travelling abroad by air for specific occasions such as honeymoons, milestone anniversaries and - to an extent - Christmas holidays, are increasingly opting to upgrade their seats to enjoy luxury travel.
