18 December 2007 Airport issues Christmas travel tips
Holidaymakers preparing to jet off this Christmas have been issued with some seasonal travel advice by one airline.
Stansted Airport notes that the Christmas holidays are one of the busiest times of year in terms of travel.
As such it is reminding passengers to pack as many Christmas presents as possible into their checked-in baggage - while remaining in the weight limit - as only one piece of hand luggage can be carried on to flights.
"Around a million people are expected to travel through Stansted over the festive season and it's vital that our passengers follow some simple tips before leaving home to help them on their journey through the airport," Mark Murphy, customer service director of BAA Stansted commented.
The airport also notes that Christmas crackers are not allowed to be packed in checked-in or hand luggage as they can contain banned items that are not allowed airside.
Stansted Airport recently advised customers carrying presents in their hand luggage to leave them unwrapped for security reasons.
