25 March 2008 Airport offers holidaymakers clean flight experience
Britons travelling to traditional and emerging destinations for holidays from Aberdeen Airport may find that the breath of fresh air they are seeking is closer to home than anticipated.
According to BAA, an independent air quality study has found Aberdeen Airport to be among the cleanest hubs in all of Scotland.
During a six-month investigation of nitrogen dioxide concentrations at Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh airports, the lowest concentrations were found at the transport gateway to traditional and emerging destinations.
Stuart Torpey, the airport's environmental manager, commented: "This makes clear how hard we work at Aberdeen Airport to protect the environment and improve our practices."
He added that it is the little things that make a big difference in leading the change toward greener transport.
