14 January 2008 Anguilla has 'best beaches in Caribbean'
Holidaymakers have been advised that Anguilla has some of the "finest beaches in the Caribbean".
According to the Telegraph, the island is the number one destination for winter sun and boasts "long curvaceous stretches of dazzlingly white, sink-as-you-step, talcum-powder sands".
Other fantastic facets of Anguilla include its gourmet restaurants and "upmarket" hotels, according to the publication.
Meanwhile, it is also reputed to be a top destination for watersports enthusiasts.
Another top Caribbean destination to make the top ten list of winter sun destinations is Dominica, which featured in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy of films.
This year marks the island's 30-year anniversary of independence from Great Britain.
