30 January 2008 Blackpool attraction targets groups
Group holidaymakers are being targeted by a Blackpool amusement park, it has been revealed.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach, home to the Pepsi Max Big One, Wild Mouse, Big Dipper, Steeplechase and the Grand National, has announced its intention to become the country's "top destination" for coach parties and groups.
The news comes after the director of the British Resorts and Destinations Association, Peter Hampson, commented that UK seaside resorts are set to be popular this year among travellers.
Mr Hampson said that nowhere is better than Britain when the weather is good.
"You could probably have just as much fun in Blackpool for the weekend, as you would if you flew to Europe," Mr Hampton insisted.
Meanwhile, Blackpool Pleasure Beach claims that the theme park has "something for everyone" with more than 125 rides and attractions to choose from in addition to a selection of ice shows and circuses.
