Couples getting married for the second or third time prefer to take their vows overseas, it has been claimed.
Carol Richardson, PR manager for Confetti, reported that foreign weddings are popular among those who had already been married in the UK.
Furthermore, Ms Richardson added that many brides and grooms seek to avoid the stress associated with organising a large wedding at home and inviting numerous relatives.
"A lot of people who are getting married for the second or even third time will prefer to go away and do it. Certainly it prevents a lot of the fuss of organising a huge wedding where all your relations are invited," she claimed.
Over 500,000 browsers visit the Confetti website every month to get tips on products and ideas for weddings.
Other reasons cited for marrying abroad included better weather – with the Caribbean listed as one of the top wedding destinations.
