28 March 2007 Britons 'could save £660m on travel money'
Britons heading to Europe for the Easter holidays have been warned that they could be spending too much on their travel money.
Financial services comparison firm moneysupermarket.com claims that travellers could save up to £660 million collectively by using better value money products.
The company compared the cost of using debit cards, travellers cheques, foreign currency, credit-card and pre-paid money cards from differing providers.
Robert Kenley, head of credit cards at moneysupermarket.com, said: "People have a lot more choice of how to pay when spending abroad and the analysis shows a huge difference between best and worst providers."
He added that holidaymakers could save up to £43 each trip by using the best value travel money products when on holiday.
Lloyds TSB launched a pre-paid travel money card last month, commenting that the product could help families heading abroad on their winter holidays stick to their budget.
