03 July 2007 Britons warned of delays following attack
Britons planning on heading abroad this summer have been warned that they may experience extra delays on their travels following an attempted terrorist attack at Glasgow Airport last weekend.
Speaking on the News at Noon programme on Channel 4, personal finance expert Melanie Wright noted that a number of new security measures may well be established at airports across Britain in response to the incident.
"We expect to see a whole host of delays at various airports around the country as various security measures kick in," she said.
The airport itself reports that it is now fully operational with the majority of flights running as normal at both Terminal 1 and T2, though it has advised holidaymakers to contact their airline to check the status of their flight.
A number of people have been arrested following the incident that took place last Saturday, while recently-appointed home secretary Jacqui Smith has reported that a "fast-moving" investigation into the attempted attack is currently ongoing.
