26 March 2008 Brits 'don't budget for holidays'
UK holidaymakers fail to set a budget for themselves when travelling overseas, it has been reported.
According to Thomas Cook, ten million holidaymakers fail to set themselves a holiday budget.
However, of those that do, Thomas Cook reports that women are better at sticking to them than men.
A total 69 per cent of women managed to stay within their limits while on a holiday compared to 59 per cent of men.
Nonetheless, the study also showed that ten per cent of holidaymakers who set themselves a holiday budget tend not to stick to it.
"For most of us, a holiday from our busy lives is a necessity and not a luxury. As we continue to travel, budgeting will become more important than ever during what is seen by many as a current period of instability," said financial services managing director Mark Nancarrow.
