19 March 2008 Brits driving to traditional destinations 'should be aware'
British motorists planning on driving to traditional destinations in Europe this Easter have been advised to check their car cover before travelling.
According to uSwitch, not doing so could run the risk of ruining Britons dream breaks to Easter holiday destinations.
The consumer service website notes that of those motorists who could be planning to travel to Easter holiday destinations this month, 17.2 million drivers are "completely unaware" of car insurance cover when travelling overseas.
According to uSwitch, three million British motorists heading are planning to drive to Europe this year.
"It isn't only sun cream protection that holidaymakers need to worry about when driving abroad this year - motorists must also spend some time examining the protection offered by their car insurance provider," Ashton Berkhauer, insurance expert at uSwitch.com observed.
Easter holiday destinations that could be accessible for drivers travelling to the continent include Brittany in France, which has many campsites along the coast, as well as cities such as Paris for long-weekend city breaks.
