UK consumers have "international aspirations" in terms of travel and property, it has been reported.
According to the National Association of Estate Agents, the property market in countries including France, Portugal, Italy and Cyprus will do "particularly well" in 2008.
Meanwhile, Spain will retain its crown as a magnet for British tourism and investment, it is argued.
"British buyers are still in love with the idea of a place on the Costas. Spain remains the number one destination according to enquiries through our portal," remarked Robin Haynes of Foreign Currency Direct.
Additionally, Florida is benefiting from the fall in the dollar in terms of attracting foreign property investor he added.
The NAEA is the UK's professional body for estate agency with a focus on property in the UK and overseas.
