20 March 2008 Brits head for sunny and snowy Easter holiday destinations
Roughly two million Britons will be taking to the skies and seas this weekend in an attempt to enjoy some sun or snow over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) reveals that traditional destinations such as Spain will continue to be favourites over the coming Easter break.
Other Easter holiday destinations set to be popular include the Canary Islands - where the weather is predicted to be "excellent" with temperatures reaching above 20 degrees Celsius.
"The early Easter has given our customers the extra option of heading to the slopes as well as topping up their tans, and the extended peak period has also seen a flattening out of prices, which has increased the number of holiday bargains for this time of year," Justin Fleming, president of Abta, commented.
France, Austria, Canada and the emerging destination of Finland are said to be top Easter holiday destinations for those looking to enjoy a spot of skiing.
