28 February 2008 Business tourists vow to return to the Cape
Cape Town is a fast emerging destination for business tourism, after it was revealed that the majority of delegates attending recent conventions and exhibitions in the region pledged to visit the city again.
According to a survey, 70 per cent of business travellers intend to return to the South African destination in the coming five years.
The Datavision convention delegate tracking study, which was commissioned by the Cape Town International Convention Centre, are said to "underscore the power" of the conference industry to draw tourism to the Western Cape.
"These results, a core element of our overall conference delegate tracking for Cape Town and the Western Cape for 2007, are extremely encouraging," Calvyn Gilfellan, acting chief executive of Cape Town Routes Unlimited commented.
Cape Town Routes Unlimited is the official tourism destination marketing organisation for Cape Town and the Western Cape.
