Whether travelling to Ireland or Ibiza this summer, there is no excuse not to take advantage of some of the multitude of great travel cover deals currently being offered.
The number of insurance companies in the UK offering financial protection, whether annual or temporary is untold, and it is worth the time and effort for consumers to shop around.
Senior researcher at moneysupermarket.com Peter Gerrard has stated that the travel insurance is one of the most competitive industries in the country, due largely to the fact that this is such a short-term product.
"70 per cent of people who use our site to search for a travel policy opt for single trip cover over annual," he said.
As well as the fact that most opt for short-term travel cover over annual travel cover, the volume UK residents now travelling abroad for their holidays have also forced the insurance rates down.
According to nationalstatistics.com visits abroad by UK residents rose a full two per cent during the twelve months ending in March 2006, a rise of about 1.2 million people.
