18 January 2008 Celeb chef to "deliver menu innovation"
A celebrity chef has been appointed to the role of Senior Executive Chef to British Airways with Gate Gourmet, it has been announced.
According to British Airways, Steven Walpole intends to deliver an innovative menu along side the airline's team of "talented" chefs.
Mr Walpole has cooked at restaurants including Browns Hotel, The Lanesborough, The Waterside Restaurant at Bray, The House of Commons and Lloyds of London.
"I am looking forward to new challenges of designing appetising and healthy meals in an industry that is not traditionally known for the quality of its food. With the team at Gate Gourmet I am confident that I can bring something new to menus that are already top of their class," the chef commented.
Tim Cocker, commercial director at Gate Gourmet added that he was pleased that Mr Walpole was joining the "already excellent" team.
Mr Walpole has appeared on BBC UK Food and Discovery Health as well as assisting on BBC Saturday Kitchen.
The programme takes place weekly on Saturday mornings and involves a number of celebrities and celebrity chefs cooking various dishes.
