Same-sex travellers have revealed that check-in can be the "scariest" part of their holiday, according to new research.
Aspire+ reports that new research on gay travel shows "heartening" results on the most part however during check-in, people noted that the people behind the desk would sometimes think that they had made a mistake and change it.
It was revealed that same-sex holidaymakers do not have a perceived need for a specialist holiday operator but like to travel to an area where they feel their business is welcomed.
"They want to go anywhere they want to go, but they want to specifically feel welcomed by hotels and operators," Rolf Kurth, spokesperson for Aspire+, said.
He added that gay people do not want to feel as if they have been "relegated" to a "ghetto destination".
