Tropical storm Cindy has struck the US state of Georgia claiming two lives.
A child drowned in a creek in Peachtree City and a woman was killed after her car aquaplaned and collided with a sports utility vehicle on Interstate 20.
According to the Associated Press, much of the state of Georgia experienced high winds and heavy rains, which caused trees to topple and buildings to be damaged.
The National Weather Service has said more than 13cm (5 inches) of rain fell in some places as it posted flood watches for north and central parts of the state.
The storms come at the beginning of the hurricane season.
