27 November 2007 Couples 'opt for adventurous honeymoons'
British couples are increasingly opting for adventurous holidays when it comes to their honeymoons, it has been suggested.
According to Francesca Moore, a spokesperson from hitched.co.uk, newlyweds are getting more adventurous and choosing active honeymoons as well as the more traditional romantic sojourns.
Other top locations for romantic getaways included the Maldives, the Far East and the Mediterranean.
The Maldives were reported to be a favoured destination because of their white beaches and reliable weather.
"Some people want the sunshine and some people want skiing. You can go on a honeymoon to anywhere in the world so you can make it as unique to you as you like," Ms Moore stated.
A study by the Telegraph showed that newlyweds spend an average of £3,000 on their honeymoon.
