06 November 2007 Cross-resort ski pass launched
Ski tourists on holiday in some of the biggest resorts in France will now have the opportunity to visit another winter sports area for just ten euros (£6.96), it has emerged.
By purchasing an XXL Pass, those with a lift pass lasting for at least five days in resorts in the Three Valleys, Espace Killy and Paradiski will be able to hit the slopes in 11 other ski and snowboard destinations for the day, reports the Ski Club.
Commenting on the news, Al Morgan from the publication's information department said: "It's obviously a bit of a trek to go from one ski area to another but for people who have a car and are out in resort for a while it's a great way to visit another area."
The XXL Pass replaces the Espace Olympique permit which was first rolled out 15 years ago.
Resorts taking part in the scheme include Courchevel, Val Thorens and La Tania.
Meribel, Val d'Isere, St Martin de Belleville and Tignes are also participating.
Last month, the Association of British Travel Agents reported that France is the most popular destination for skiers.
