17 May 2006 Don't forget to insure the family
As families look ahead to the summer and plan their holidays, they should not over look buying travel cover according to building society, Nationwide.
Whether heading on a short trip into Europe or taking a long-haul flight to hot destination, travel protection is vitally important for covering everything from a missed flight to lost luggage, especially if families are travelling on a budget.
Robin Bailey, Nationwide's insurance director, commented: "As summer approaches and thoughts turn to holidays and trips abroad, it is important that people have adequate holiday insurance, regardless of whether they are travelling alone or as a family."
Last week researchers at Mintel found it is also becoming increasingly common for families to take more than one trip away over the summer and throughout the year, in which case an annual or multi-trip policy could be much more economical.
