18 March 2008 Egypt is emerging destination for kite-flyers
Egypt could well be an emerging destination for kite-flying enthusiasts as it prepares to hold its annual kite-flyers jamboree.
Those travelling to El Gouna on the Red Sea coast between April 18th and April 27th 2008 will be able to attend the "biggest annual jamboree for the kite community".
The kite-flying extravaganza is being staged by the Red Sea Zone Watersports Academy in El Gouna, the only International Kiteboarding Organisation accredited centre in the resort.
"Set to be one of the biggest events in the Red Sea area for kite-boarders and their fans, there are a variety of activities scheduled during the week-long event that even non-fans can enjoy getting involved in," El Gouna notes.
Holidaymakers can look forward discussing new trends and watching exhibitions showcasing the latest equipment in the sport.
Novice kite-flyers can even take part in free introductory sessions and activities such as wakeboarding, waterskiing and beach volleyball.
