According to alpharooms.com, the north-west city is fast becoming one of the most popular city-break destinations in Europe.
Moreover, the region is scoring high in the Google rankings as a popular searched for city while it has attracted twice the amount of holiday bookings it did this time a year ago.
"We always expected to see an increase in bookings as Liverpool launched its European Capital of Culture year, but we never expected the sheer volume of last minute bookings weve had in just the first few weeks in January," commented Lee Goodwin, alpharooms.com's commercial analyst.
He added that the city's profile has been boosted on a global scale since becoming capital of culture.
Additionally, the city is alpharooms.com's biggest selling non-capital city UK destination.
