18 October 2007 Extra flights put on for rugby final
After last night's football defeat against Russia leaving England fans unsure of whether or not their football team will qualify for Euro 2008, British rugby fans are now setting their sights on this Saturday's final in France against South Africa.
The Telegraph recently reported that tickets for the final in France are exchanging hands for as much as £4,100 and that travel agencies are being inundated with enquiries about travel to the big game.
Meanwhile, airline easyJet has announced that it is to operate extra flights to Paris from London Luton airport and Bristol International to cope with the demand for travel.
"We have been inundated. We hope that more tickets will become available through the official channels, but at the moment there are thousands of fans chasing little more than a handful of tickets," Justin Hopwood of England Rugby Travel told the newspaper.
Meanwhile, Confused.com has warned England rugby fans who plan to watch the football away from their homes to ensure that their properties are adequately secured against burglars.
