24 September 2007 Flights between Newcastle and Dusseldorf 'to double'
From November 2007, the number of Lufthansa flights between Newcastle and Dusseldorf is set to double, it has been announced.
The airline is increasing its flights between the destinations, meaning that two flights per day will be offered between Mondays and Fridays.
According to Lufthansa, this will open up a range of connections to European destinations not currently available direct from Newcastle such as Budapest, Marseille, Milan Malpensa, Stockholm, Vienna, Warsaw, and Zurich.
"Lufthansa's passengers from across the north-east of England will benefit enormously from the new flights," commented Marianne Sammann, general manager for Lufthansa UK and Ireland.
She added that the new morning flight from Newcastle to Dusseldorf would free-up the afternoon for business meetings or sightseeing for visitors.
Meanwhile, the flights would offer quick and easy onward connections to passengers, according to the general manager.
In other news, easyJet recently announced the addition of a new twice-daily London Luton to Zurich service.
