22 February 2008 Greece to host food festival
The holiday resort of Halkidiki in Greece is to host its annual culinary event later this spring.
From May 17th until May 24th the 2008 Sani Gourmet Food Festival will take place at the Sani Resort.
Featured in the culinary festival will be "top class" chefs from Germany, France, Cyprus, Greece, Morocco, Turkey, the USA and Japan.
"If last year was anything to go by, the event looks set to be an unmissable occasion for food and wine-lovers everywhere," organisers commented.
The 2008 Gourmet Festival will take place in the Sea You Up restaurant which offers Asian cuisine and overlooks the Aegean Sea, The Water Restaurant, an a la carte dining establishment, Tomata, a new-age Greek restaurant and Byblos Restaurant.
Confirmed chefs include Michelin-starred Heinz Winkler owner of the Residenz Heinz Winkler in Germany, Alain Lorca owner of Le Moulin de Mougins on the French Riviera, Andreas Mavromatis "acclaimed" Cypriot chef and Chysanthos Karamolegos: Karamolegoes of Aristera-Dexia, Apla and Tomata restaurants.
The chefs will prepare a special menu of five or six courses.
