13 April 2007 Guidebook published for disabled travellers
Adventure travellers with disabilities looking for advice and tips when going abroad may be interested in the launch next week of a new guidebook.
Released on April 25th, the book includes a host of information, including descriptions of all types of travel and tips on avoiding difficulties when on holiday and is a follow-up to a previous guide published in 2005 aimed at the Colorado area.
The guidebook also includes six interviews with famous athletes who have had a major impact on the development of adaptive sports.
"An inspirational guide to travelling, adventuring and sporting with a disability, Access Anything: I Can Do That! dives into the incredible world of adaptive sports and recreation by showcasing 45 different sports that have been adapted for people with disabilities."
In the UK, the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee was set up in 1985 by the government to offer advice on the transport needs of disabled people.
