19 October 2006 Half-termers get travel insurance reminder
UK families taking domestic trips or short breaks abroad during half-term have been advised to remember to take out adequate travel cover for their trips.
Holidaymakers have also been reminded to take relevant contact numbers and policy details with them on their trip by esure.
The company also noted that 72 per cent of travellers take a mobile phone with them on their breaks, with 30 per cent carrying an mp3 player.
Jacky Brown, head of travel at esure, said: "Parents should make sure they cover themselves and their children by taking out travel protection this half-term whether they're on UK or foreign soil.
She warned that accidents on holiday can be costly and devastating without adequate cover, with this being especially true of misfortunes involving children.
Last year Direct Line warned of thieves targeting holidaymakers travelling abroad with expensive electronic hardware.
