Britons wanting to try some exquisite international food on holiday may be interested in a trip to Helsinki for a range of traditional and modern dining opportunities.
The Finnish Tourist Board reports that the capital boasts a number of Michelin-starred venues, top Russian restaurants and countless bars.
Furthermore, the HelsinkiMenu project established at the turn of the century is set to kick in for another year to publicise the delights of Finnish cuisine.
"Barely a week goes by without the opening of a new bar or restaurant, ensuring high quality and a great variety in style, tradition, architecture and entertainment," the tourist board reports.
It recommends a number of places to take advantage of a wealth of culinary talent, including Chez Dominique - a two-Michelin starred establishment - and a number of fish restaurants to indulge in the upcoming crayfish season.
The tourist board reports that Finland hosts 35 of national parks preserving a range of natural sights from rapids to rift valleys.
