03 January 2007 Holiday planning 'causes anxiety'
Britons planning trips abroad next year could be facing an anxious time when they book their holiday, according to recently published research.
A survey from NatWest reveals that 94 per cent of Britons will be considering their summer holidays as the new year begins, with 81 per cent feeling anxious by the planning involved.
It noted that 33 per cent of Britons feel that there holiday has been ruined by unacceptable accommodation, while 22 per cent believed the food available to be inedible.
Mike Freer, head of business development at NatWest International, said: "Family holidays should be a fun and relaxing time of year but sadly this isn't always the case."
He added that the expense and hassle involved in arranging a destination can be avoided through purchasing a holiday home, which he described as a "realistic option" for Britons wanting a simpler time planning their trips overseas.
In December, currency specialist HiFX reported that Britons were choosing France and Spain ahead of other locations for a holiday or retirement home.
