04 January 2006 Holiday price war anticipated
Travellers are set to benefit from a summertime price war between competing travel firms.
According to research conducted by Co-op Travelcare, some destinations will see their prices dropping by as much as 25 per cent.
Benefiting those with adequate cover who are prepared to shop around, the research revealed that cheaper deals would be available for holidays to some of the world's most exotic destinations.
Morocco was found to be this year's best saving, as travellers to Agadir could save up to £144 per person per week this summer.
"The holiday market is constantly evolving and each year we see prices fall in certain destinations," commented Mike Greenacre, head of the Co-operative Travel Trading Group.
It is thought that the cuts in prices are due to currency fluctuations and increased accommodation.
Other destinations which will be cheaper to visit this year include Venice, Antigua and Bermuda.
