22 November 2007 Holidaymakers given driving tips
British drivers looking to travel to the continent over the winter months have been issued with driving tips by insurancewide.com.
According to insurancewide.com, motorists should prepare themselves thoroughly before travelling, with a check of European driving laws being a crucial precursor to a holiday on the continent.
The company also warned that the minimum compulsory insurance cover in Europe is third party.
"It really does pay before you set off to check European motoring laws and to check that your car insurance policy covers you for accident or breakdown abroad," commented chief executive of insurancewide.com James Harrison.
He added: "Be aware that insurers tend to limit the number of days that you can have your car abroad in any one year."
Meanwhile, NFU Mutual recently warned drivers to have their wits about them when driving in fog this winter.
