09 December 2006 Holidaymakers 'not deterred by airport delays'
UK holidaymakers have not been overly deterred by the security alerts and baggage restrictions that occurred during the summer, according to a recent survey.
While just over 20 per cent of those surveyed by Travel Insurance Web said that they were wary of delays, 40 per cent said that they would continue to fly irrespective of increased security and potential delays.
The company reported the easing of hand luggage restrictions as of November 4th, while around 20 per cent of those questioned felt that the commotion regarding them had "been exaggerated".
Graham Linney, marketing director of Travel Insurance Web, said: "Whilst customers have been concerned, by and large they are still flying and buying travel insurance - especially as our policy includes cover for unexpected delays."
During the summer, single and multi-trip travel insurance provider Allianz Cornhill reported that musicians would have to "carefully consider" how they would transport their instruments abroad in the event of hand luggage restrictions.
