20 December 2007 "Hot spots" for 2008 from Abta
The Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) has announced its top spots for travel in 2008.
Among the locations destined for popularity in the new year are Australia, Botswana and Colombia.
Other top holiday spots are predicted to include China, Singapore, the US and France.
"Travelling is always an inspiring way of spending our free time," commented Justin Fleming, president of Abta.
"And with so many exciting events and enticing destinations, our enthusiasm for overseas holidays in 2008 remains high," he added.
The organisation also anticipates that cruising will remain a "success" in terms of travel, with eight new ships scheduled for launch in 2008.
Destinations with early bookings include Egypt, Turkey and Portugal.
Abta was founded in 1950 and has over 1,500 members. Its affiliates include travel agents, tour operators and support services.
