14 November 2006 Hotel advertises 'sweet' holiday breaks
A luxury hotel chain is offering travellers to the US its Holiday Sweets package for the forthcoming winter break, whereby travellers can upgrade their room for a price starting at $20 (£10.52).
Holidaymakers will also receive a box of homemade chocolates produced by LA Burdick Chocolate of New Hampshire.
The selection is packaged in a wooden box complete with a gold emboss and ribbon and includes ten chocolates and a unique handmade chocolate mouse.
Caryn Kboudi, vice president of corporate communications for Omni Hotels, said: "The holidays are always memorable and we want to help our guest make even more memories this year by relaxing and enjoying the local sights, sounds and tastes as they travel during the holidays."
The company suggests eating the chocolates while away, or gifting them to loved ones back home on return.
American Express reported last summer that Britons spend an average of £85.63 on gifts while abroad.
