23 November 2007 How to overcome a fear of flying
Would-be holidaymakers who find their ambitions of world travel hampered by a fear of flying may soon find themselves free of trepidation thanks to a selection of courses designed to eliminate aircraft apprehension.
According to price comparison site Cheapflights.co.uk, the courses - from Aviatours, Virgin Atlantic and Flying Fear - vary in price from £195 for a group session to £1,995 for one-on-one training.
Meanwhile, those who opt for the Virgin Atlantic course can look forward to being awarded a certificate signed by Sir Richard Branson upon completion.
"To get up in the air and see the world without apprehension is a great reward for those willing to overcome their fears and discover the joy of flying," commented Francesca Ecsery, general manager of Cheapflights.co.uk.
Virgin Atlantic claims that its Flying Without Fear course has a 98 per cent success rate and programmes are set to take place in Bournemouth, Leeds Bradford, Luton, Newcastle, Birmingham, Gatwick, Dublin and Glasgow between December 2007 and March 2008.
