09 December 2005 'I'm a Celebrity' culture sparks travel insurance need
Adventurous Brits seem to be taking a leaf out of the 'I'm a Celebrity' craze for experiencing holiday destinations and food that are far less run of the mill than the average holiday.
According to research by Norwich Union, over half of travellers would be happy to try unusual food such as witchetty grubs, cockroaches and grasshoppers.
Skydiving, abseiling and rainforest canopy walking are just a few of the activities that highlight the need for daring Brits to have adequate travel cover, reports easier.com
"While shows such as I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here often prompt people to try out what they have seen on TV, it's important to be aware of the risks involved and be properly insured," commented Dawn McMullan at Norwich Union.
"Kimberley Davies' unfortunate accident highlighted the need to be aware of the risks involved in taking part in adventure activities and, of course, to be properly insured in case anything does go wrong. It can be the difference between a minor drama and a major crisis," she added.
