22 October 2007 "Increasingly common" for Brits to take 2-3 holidays per year
Money looks to be no object for Britons who are determined to escape the cold British weather, it has been reported.
According to Alliance & Leicester, one in ten people take an additional holiday despite not having paid off the previous one - with an "increasingly common" trait among Brits being to take between two and three holidays a year.
Furthermore, research from the financial institute revealed that 11 per cent of UK residents take five or more holidays per year.
"It's becoming increasingly common for Britons to take at least two or three trips a year. With the terrible weather we have had this summer it is possible that many more of us will be tempted to escape to the sunshine this October half term," commented Ross Dalzell, manager for savings at Alliance & Leicester.
The study also revealed that the age group most likely to indulge in multiple annual holidays was the over-50s.
Saga recently reported that this age group is increasingly looking away from traditional style package holidays.
