12 February 2007 Inquiries 'on the up' for rented holiday homes
Inquiries for rented holiday accommodation increased by 40 per cent during January, claims an online marketplace of holiday homes, while there are still a number of vacancies available for the spring and summer period in 2007.
Holiday-Rentals.co.uk reports that over 60 per cent of travellers will opt for a self-catering trip during 2007, with the company receiving 1.1 million visits to its website in January.
Alexis de Belloy, managing director of the company, commented that renting private accommodation when on holiday can provide more privacy and flexibility than other types of accommodation when abroad, while direct online booking can offer savings over purchasing through travel agents.
"Speaking with the owner also provides the opportunity to gather plenty of information about the property and the destination," he said.
"Owners can recommend the best places to eat and drink, and all the must-sees in the area, helping visitors get the most from their holiday," he added.
Holiday-Rentals.co.uk offers travellers the chance to book private rented holiday homes at a number of destinations in Europe and elsewhere around the world.
