21 November 2007 Les Arcs 'is number one beginner ski resort'
The French ski resort of Les Arcs has been listed as the top ski resort for beginners by one publication.
According to the Guardian, the resort has a good variety of nursery slopes directly above each of its main areas.
It was also placed in the number one spot of ten resorts because of its "good range" of advanced slopes for those who progress from beginner level.
Moreover, Les Arcs boasts a free beginners lift as well as a British-run ski school for new skiers.
Also listed in the top-ten beginner ski resort list are Bulgaria's Bansko at number two, Soldeu in Andorra - number seven - and Tignes, which specifically caters to beginner female skiers with a women-only course.
Meanwhile, for those heading to the slopes this month, snowfall has been predicted over the Alps this week, according to Secure Travel.
