05 July 2006 Love in Berlin
Forget the football, holidaymakers heading to Germany this summer will want to pack their dancing shoes and earplugs, along with their travel cover, as July sees the return of the Berlin Loveparade.
After a break of two years the Berlin Loveparade is set to return in full force to the streets of the German capital on July 15th with a procession of some 40 sound trucks, as well as a series of solid sound stages showcasing the best in up-and-coming dance music.
Travellers will be heading to the Loveparade to catch some of the biggest names in international electronic music, including Britain's Ministry Of Sound, The Netherlands' Tiesto, and Ibiza's Privilege.
Loveparade, the brain-child of an acid-house-loving German DJ who wanted to create a free street party, has grown since its humble beginnings in 1989 into a major event, with crowds of over 1.4 million expected to party in the spirit of peace and love, in the city's Tiergarden this summer.
