29 January 2008 Naked flights from Germany
Holidaymakers who enjoy the freedom of spending their spare time naked as the day they were born will soon be able to begin their experience from the airplane, it has been reported.
One travel company has announced it is launching a series of special naturalist flights aimed specifically at former East Germans, the AFP reports.
Founder of OssiUrlaub.de Enrico Hess noted that naturist holidays were popular in former East Germany and that he wanted to make the freedom available "above the clouds too".
"All the passengers will fly naked, but they are only allowed to undress once they are in the plane. But then they will be able to enjoy the hour-long flight in the way God intended," Mr Hess told the AFP.
However, cabin crew and pilots will not be flying in the nude.
The flights will initially take place between Erfurt in southeast Germany and Usedom, an island in the Baltic Sea this July.
Usedom is situated on the border between Germany and Poland, north of the Szczecin Lagoon.
