27 December 2007 New Year a 'great time' to head to the States
January is a "great time" to visit the United States and indulge in some post-Christmas sales shopping, according to an airport spokesperson.
A spokesperson for BAA Stansted suggests that the US is a good destination for those "looking to pick up a bargain" after the festive period.
However, with increased direct links to New York, Washington, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, "visiting the US couldn't be easier at any time of the year", with "significantly increased bookings" in US flights from Stansted Airport.
With the UK pound surpassing the $2.10 level against the US dollar in recent weeks, North America offers good value for money for British travellers at the moment.
Services are offered by MaxJet, Eos and American Airlines from Stansted Airport to the United States.
Figures from the US department of commerce recently suggested that visitor number to the country had increased in September compared with the same period from a year previously, according to Travel Daily News.
