02 January 2008 New "sunshine destination" flights announced
Routes to a selection of new so-called "sunshine destinations" have just been announced by budget UK airline easyJet.
Among the 16 new itineraries are flights to Corsica, Dalaman, Crete, the Canary Islands, Corfu and Turkey.
Other destinations include Cyprus, Gibraltar, Hurghada, Malta, Rhodes and Sharm El Sheik in Egypt.
"In total easyJet will now offer a choice of 66 routes from Gatwick and a further six from Manchester," the airline announced.
A deal which will see easyJet buy Gatwick-based British Airways franchise GB airways is expected to complete this month.
It was recently reported by Sainsbury's Bank that 12 million Britons look set to book their 2008 holidays before the end of February.
