02 November 2006 New tiger-tracking tour in India
Ecotourism company Discovery Initiatives has announced a new wildlife tour based around tiger tracking, which may provide an educational and interactive holiday experience.
The trip allows participants to walk into the forest on foot in the Bandhavargh and Kahna Tiger Reserves in India to study and track tigers and their prey.
Holidaymakers can take part in discussions on the interaction of humans and tigers and other parts of the ecosystem in safari parks in the country as part of the package.
"Conservation, ethical and responsible travel is at the heart of everything the company does," Discovery Initiatives stated.
It added that its journeys are often guided by internationally recognised experts that support wildlife groups and conservation organisations across the globe.
Last year, Norwich Union reported that 42 per cent of Britons wanted to travel on an adventure holiday, such as jungle camping or rainforest canopy walking.
