04 November 2006 New website promotes Ontario to UK
UK holidaymakers deciding where to take their next trip may be influenced by a new website designed to endorse the province of Ontario in Canada as a tourist destination.
The website promotes a number of areas to UK travellers, including Niagara Falls, Toronto and Ottawa, in addition to supporting aboriginal tourism.
Employees of Ontario Tourism are to take part in the World Travel Market in London this month to promote the province as an all-year travel destination for UK travellers.
Jim Bradley, tourism minister, said: "This new website provides valuable information about Ontario's unique tourism offerings for travellers from the UK."
He added that the UK was the largest overseas market for tourism in Ontario and that the website would help promote and showcase the diverse travel opportunities available in the province.
Norwich Union noted earlier this year that Canada was fourth on a list of holiday destinations where baggage can be lost in transit, according to analysis of its claims database.
