10 October 2007 New year's ball in Vienna
This New Year's Eve celebrations in Vienna turn classical and traditional as the Austrian capital hosts the Kaiserball.
Also known as the Imperial Ball it takes place at the Hofburg Congress Center in Vienna, on December 31st.
The evening contains a mixture of fine dining and traditional entrance hall welcome with cocktails and dancing until the early hours.
"According to old Austrian tradition the Grenadiers of the KK Infanterieregiment welcome you in the entrance area. Guests are presented with a cocktail to the strains of music," the evening programme reveals.
Attendees will be able to dine on a four-course menu with wine and champagne before a Traditional Polonaise performance from the ballet ensemble of the Imperial Ball.
Following this, guests dance to music such as the Blue Danube Waltz and the whole event does not end until 03:30 in the morning.
