16 November 2007 Norway expecting 'successful' ski season
Norway's ski resorts are expecting the 2007-08 winter to be a "fantastic" ski season.
Innovation Norway, the Norwegian tourist board, has said that the diversity of the country's winter sports offerings makes the country perfect for all styles and abilities of skier.
"There are a wide range of slopes to suit skiers of all abilities and visitors are guaranteed a warm welcome and scenery to rival resorts worldwide," said Innovation Norway's country manager, Catherine Foster.
Ms Foster added that resorts in the Scandinavian country have already experienced "great snowfall".
The country opened its first resort - Trysil - yesterday and Hemsedal today followed suit. Further locations will open in Norway over the next few weeks as the ski season gets fully into swing.
According to Innovation Norway, dog sledging, snowmobiling, tobogganing and sleigh rides are available at most resorts, which have snow "virtually guaranteed" from now until May.
Innovation Norway took on the responsibilities of the tourist board in 2004.
