22 January 2008 Passengers should 'focus on small print'
Holidaymakers travelling on budget airlines should thoroughly check the small print to be sure of what they are booking, it has been claimed.
According to Holiday Which?, sometimes more than the advertised ticket price is included in the booking form and travellers should "untick" what they do not require, such as speedy boarding.
Quarterly publication Holiday Which? aims to provide consumers with comprehensive, unbiased holiday advice.
"Read the small print carefully. For a lot of people, price is still the main thing that makes their decision for them at the end of the day," commented Claire Lilley, head of research at Holiday Which?.
She added that travellers should be clear about what they intend to book before signing up for a holiday.
Ms Lilley claimed that it should be decided before hand whether or not travel insurance and speedy booking are to be included in order to avoid being "talked into it" by travel agents.
